To retain the flavor, I woud cover the food before warming it in the microwave oven . On the other hand,  if I don't, food tends to dry out and splatter all over the wall, especially spaghetti sauce. I used saran wrap to cover the dish. However, I have mixed feelings whether or not  nuking saran wrap can cause cancer. Not to mention the fact that I am filling our earth with plastic wraps and literally throwing money away.

While I was at Wal-mart, I found a solution, microwavable cover dish.

Jeff and I play at least one Scrabble game a day. If we aren't tired, we would play a second game. It keeps our minds sharp and increases our vocabulary. Since the game is on the computer, it keeps tally of wins and losses. Most of the time, I am the loser. It gotten to a point where Jeff was leading by 30 games. It would have taken me a long time to catch up to him. Therefore, he deleted the history. We began a new tally, a white slate.

When we repent, Jesus forgives us. Our slate is as white as snow. I am thankful that He does not keep a tally of our sins.

WFW: Do Not Worry

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" ~ Matthew 6:26-28 (NIV)

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

"All of our good deeds do not measure up to God's glory. At the same time, we cannot fall from God's grace. He proved that to us when he sent his Son to the cross." For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

As I listened to The Inquisitor explaining God's grace to his dad, I know he is ready for his mission field (Southeast High School) in the fall. Why was I afraid that The Inquisitor will be influenced by his peers? From what I hear and see, he will be influencing them. Thank you, God for allowing me to be his mother.

He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) I Timothy 3:4-5

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Does submitting to your husband mean to agree with everything he says? No, it means to respect and honor him, even when you don't agree with him.

Scenerio I :

After cutting your long hair, your husband told you that he would prefer it long. How do you react?

A. You didn't care for his opinion. It is your hair. you are the one who has to take care of it.

B. You value his opinion, because he is the one who has to look at you. You realize that it is not that much trouble to put up your hair everyday, if that pleases your hubby.

Scenerio II:

Your friend have extended dinner invitations to your family. The problem is your spouse doesn't like the socialization. What do you do?

A. Accept the invitation without talking it over with your spouse.

B. Knowing that your hubby doesn't like to be entertained or be the entertainer, you decline and explain to your hostess why you can't come.

How did you do? Are you honoring and respecting your spouse? I have learned that to be an effective witness to Prince Charming, this is the one area I must give 100%.

After reading Luanne's 6 Weeks to Live, I began to wonder about my life-- how would I spend my last days/hours/minutes/seconds.

If I knew if I had 6 weeks to live, will I have many regrets:

Not visiting mom and sister more than twice a year?

Not forgetting about the sinkful of dishes , cuddle in bed with Minnie, read and chat until we fall asleep?

Not spending more time saying good night to each child, rather than hurrily trying to rush out of their bedrooms?

Not kissing and hugging my son in public?

Not contacting my high school friends and thank them for their friendships?

Not blogging as much?
Not spending enough with my family?

Do I need a "6 Weeks to Live" wake up call, before I make changes? The truth is, I need to make changes today. Only God knows how long I will remain on this earth.

You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

Psalm 139:16

I regret not having one more day with dad. The day (March 2001) that I comtemplated about going to Alabama, was the day that he passed away. I talked myself out of visiting him, because airline tickets were expensive; I had to take care of a todler and a kindergartener. etc. If I had to do it all over again, I would not hesitate one bit.

What about you? Do you need to reconcile a broken relationship? Do you need to know your children better? Do you need to visit your parents more? Do you need a "6 week to live" wake up call before you do anything? Why wait? Six weeks is a short period to make up for loss time.

This is what the LORD says- He who made a way through the sea, and a path through the mighty waters. "Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing new things! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."

Isiah 43: 16, 18-19

Our Christmas tree has been up since December 1st.

The tree is surrounded with gifts. For a few years, the kids will play with their new toys, grandma and Sister will display their vases, Prince Charming will utilize his tools , and I will eventually get a new laptop. Sooner or later, these gifts will end at Goodwill. There is one gift that will not be found at Goodwill . It is not wrapped in a box, but in the middle of the tree.

The wood is a reminder of the God's gift .

May the LORD keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other. Genesis 31:49

As many of you might have noticed, I have not been blogging much for the past several days. Don't be alarm. Everything is all right. I am in Alabama visiting relatives.

Prince Charming gave me half of this necklace, before he left for St. Louis in February 1989. For the rest of the story, click here.
