What I Learned This Week: He's Still The One for Me
5 comments Posted by Speaking from the Heart at Tuesday, January 05, 2010In 2009, I discovered that Jeff and I are entering a new season, raising a high school freshman son and an upcoming teenage daughter. Each child has his/her drama. I keep on reminding Jeff that we're gonna miss this; therefore, we might as well enjoy the ride. Overall, the kids are well-behaved. They tell us things that neither Jeff nor I would ever tell our parents. I am thankful for the open line of communications.
The kids are growing up. They need less attention from me and Jeff, except for occasional chauffeurring. This leaves us more time to be together. When the kids were little and there weren't much "us" time, I imagined what this day will be like. After many years of tending to the kids, will Jeff and I still love each other, or will it become a routine like a job? Will we be together to the very end? With friends finding out that their husbands committed adulteries, I began to question our marriage.
When I didn't think God was listening, He was. He eased my concerns. It wasn't a coincident that Jeff had to be in Maine for 6 days and in Alabama for 10 days without me and the kids. While he was away, I discovered that I dearly missed him. Jeff still brings a smile to my face at the beginning and at the end of the day. Lastly, I am totally lost without him.
I learned this week that my other half is still the one for me. What about you? What did you learn? Blog it and link it to Musings of a Housewife

One good thing about cycling my bike at 6:30 AM is I get to see God's art work. He adds colors here and there to his black canvas. At this point, the picture is a blur. If I squint my eyes, I can make out the objects in the picture. Although buses and cars come and go, He is not distracted by the noise. He continues with His painting. As I quietly watch Him work, I noticed the objects are coming into focus as he lightens the background and strokes shadows of rays coming from the clouds. Just when I thought the picture was perfect, He adds his final touch, a sun rising beyond the horizons.
This is the day that God has made, Rejoice and be joyful in it! -Psalms 118:24

No not me, I didn't jump to a conclusion because I wasn't concentrating to what I was reading. All kidding aside, it seems like every time I turn around, another friend is going through a separation or a divorce. With so many friends going through this turmoil, I begin to wonder about mine. Is God sending me a message? Jeff has been a trooper with my semi-paranoia. He plays along when I teasingly accuse him of cheating. For example, Jeff had to work night shift . Before he left, I told him that I was going to check his pay stub for his OT hours. I am going to make sure that he wasn't with his girlfriend. He looked at me and said," honey, if I am going to cheat on you tonight, it will be with Dunkin Donuts".
Thank you, Lord for the Jewel you have placed in my life. Amen.

Why Do I Spend My Time Blogging
1 comments Posted by Speaking from the Heart at Sunday, January 27, 2008When I began blogging, I documented family stories (childhood memories, my courtship with dear husband, my journey to America, my homeschooling journey, etc.) My main purpose was to leave a legacy for my children and future generations.
As I was about to run out of stories to write, I began searching for weekly assignments (Monday Meanderings,Tackle-it Tuesday, Wordless Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, and Friday Show and Tell). My main focus now is to utilize these assignments to minister to those who have walked or are walking on the same path as me. I am hoping that my stories will let them know that they are not alone. Jesus is extending his hand, waiting for them to ask Him in.
