Then Sings My Soul Saturdays: Then They Do
11 comments Posted by Speaking from the Heart at Saturday, January 10, 2009
Then They Do by Trace Adkins summarizes my life. My kids are growing faster than I want. LOL, is there a way to stop this merry-go-around?
Although The Inquisitor will not be starting high school until August 2009, my silent tears have already begun. In the fall, I can see myself waving good bye to him and crying at the same time, like I did when he started pre-kindergarten 9 years ago. I can't help but to think that the next four years will be flying by.

A Remembrance of Aunt Frances: Walking Her Home
4 comments Posted by Speaking from the Heart at Tuesday, December 23, 2008
Prince Charming's Aunt Frances went home to be with Jesus on December 22, 2007. Because we weren't able to attend the annual Thanksgiving reunion, I regret that I didn't get a chance to say "good bye".

When I saw Aunt Frances and Uncle Tom together, I am reminded of Mark Shultzs' song Walking Her Home. For sixty four plus years, they were never apart. It is going to be hard for Uncle Tom, because he had lost his best friend.
Our time apart is short, compare to our time together in the LORD's house.

Then Sings My Soul Saturday~Heirlooms

As I viewed the video, I envisioned my kids going through boxes of memory after I have gone home to Jesus. Will each piece of heirloom bring them a good memory of me? On the other hand, will their hearts filled with sad memories of their mom, remembering me giving them lots of quantity time, but little of quality time?
As a homeschool mom, I continue to struggle quantity with quality time. They often run together, more so during the holidays. As my Christmas "to do" list gets longer, I tend to lose focus on Jesus and my family.
This song is a good reminder for me to refocus on Jesus and my family, not on gifts, Christmas cards, decorations. etc.

Then Sings my Soul: The Christmas Shoes

Everytime I listen to this song, I thank God for giving me another chance. I could have died from a gall bladder infection. This song also reminds me to take better care of myself. My husband and kids need me.
Moms, your husbands and kids need you also. Therefore, take this season of busyness in stride. When you are stressed, your immmune system weakens and you will most likely to come down with a cold (been there, done that).
