I knew that the day would come. Jeff  packed his belongings and moved to St. Louis. We had been dating for a year and a half. It was way too early to even think about marriage. Besides, I had not finished school. We knew this long-distance relationship either would break us or would strengthen us.

We decided that it would be best that I would finish school and work for a year, and then get marry. Whoever liked his/her job the least, would quit and would follow the other person. The night before Jeff left, he surpised me with half of a Mizpah coin .  He kept the other half.

It was hard to leave our future in God's hands. When I tried to control the situation, I told myself that this long-distance relationship was not going to work. However, My half of the coin was a constant reminder that being apart was temporary and God was in control.
May the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are apart from each other.Genesis 39:49
If I had to do it all over again, would I? absolutely, without a doubt, yes. It strengthened our love and our trust for one another. What would I do different? I would invest in AT&T stocks.

Vroom... Vroom

I can remember telling myself that it will not be long before Mark gets his learner's permit. Well, 12.5 years have passed and he will be getting his permit any day now.

No, not me. I don't sound like a broken record. I don't constantly telling Katherine to clean her room. When she was at a friend's house one weekend, I braved myself to enter her room. Instead of leaving the room with an expression of madness, I felt a teardrop coming down. I realized that one day I am going to miss this.

A room filled with  pink and blue decor

A messy dresser

Clothes on the floor

latest toys and dolls

Matt Ratliff is a supermodel for Acrombie and Fitch, while is wife Shannon Stewart was the runner up for the first season of The Next Super Model. With their good looks, they are in demand. However, they are very picky on their job assignments. They refuse to do nude or risque photo shoots. Shannon believes that if she can't be happy at the end of  a photo shoot, the job isn't worth it. She's here to please One and Only, Jesus Christ.

To retain the flavor, I woud cover the food before warming it in the microwave oven . On the other hand,  if I don't, food tends to dry out and splatter all over the wall, especially spaghetti sauce. I used saran wrap to cover the dish. However, I have mixed feelings whether or not  nuking saran wrap can cause cancer. Not to mention the fact that I am filling our earth with plastic wraps and literally throwing money away.

While I was at Wal-mart, I found a solution, microwavable cover dish.

Have any helpful hints that had worked for you? Blog it  and link it to We Are That Family.

Jeff favorite motto is "if  something is  broken and it can be fixed, why replace it?".  It was no surprise to me when his watch battery died, he went to Walmart to replace it. The guy behind the jewelry counter said he was not authorize to change out  watch batteries.

If it were me, I would have brought a new $16.00 digital watch  to avoid the trouble driving around town looking for a jeweler who would replace the battery for me. Not Jeff,  he decided to purchase the battery and do it himself. When we returned home, he replaced the battery and the watch went  "bonkers". After many failed attempts, Jeff gave up and brought himself a new watch.

Our icemaker was producing ice nonstop. Not only that, it had a small leak. Once a week, I had to use my heat gun (hair dryer) to melt chunks of ice. If I went a week without it, I had a 3" block of ice that I had to chip away. Tired of this repetitous chore, I  gave up and allowed the ice cubes to overflow to the point the machine wasn't producing anymore ice. At this point, Jeff decided to fix/replace the icemaker. After finding the kit at Lowes, he took on the task of "do-it-yourself" and saved on the repair bill.

LOL, Jeff can fix a icemaker, but unable to fix his watch !!!
